Yessica and Her Family
My name is
Yessica, and I am 33 years old. I am from the Dominican Republic, but I
currently live in the United States. I moved here a few years ago to have a
better life and more opportunities. I like living here, but sometimes I miss my
country and my family.
I work in a
small store, and I study English in the evenings. Learning English is not easy,
but I really enjoy it.
I have a
beautiful family. I have two children, a daughter and a son. My daughter is 11
years old, and my son is 9. They are brilliant and funny. We like to spend time
together watching movies and cooking. On weekends, we sometimes go to the park
or visit friends. They go to school here, and they already speak English very
well.
My parents and my two younger
brothers still live in the Dominican Republic. I miss them very much,
especially during holidays. We talk on the phone almost every day, and we make
video calls on Sundays. My brothers are still studying at the university. I
hope to visit them soon, as I love my family very much. Even if we are far
away, we always stay connected.
